INDEED

Your stare gave away the sadness hidden
underneath the wooden armor you built single-handedly all these years.
Validated by a sense of security, coupled with a bit of curiosity,
a sudden tweak pinched you teasingly,
lavished, you retorted.

Read something into something, read up on nothing,
all of a sudden, you were deluged by a crisis of
mammoth proportions to eternity.

FLIP

FLIP

The promise of yesterday was fulfilled
in a certain way that is enough to make
one grateful of keeping up every single day,
well, most days at least.

Too much pride I gave up on
those days that are now just a part of a particular cycle,
Too much joy I thought I could contain,
Too much love that is just too overwhelming,
for a heart that is not destined to be owned.

Though I meant every word I said,
swallowing them is not as hard as penetrating one's
humongous ego.

As you flip the leaves that are already dry,
hoping for better days, I smile.
The wind may come with great force next time,
but on that moment, it will be a friend
that would sweep all the dried leaves behind.

And so I flip as well,
while looking back from time to time.

Nativity

How many minutes does it take to get a stranger's name
while slowly counting the seconds that remain,
How many hours do you need to stay on the line
while savoring every moment that will soon be gone,
How many days can a heart desire to reconcile love
while worrying that a week is just what it has,
How many months can you sacrifice
wanting, aching, longing,
while ignoring the fact
that every year,
you die?

Morning Dew

Light touches the foggy reflection of the night that has been.
Witnessing such wonder seems to make recollections clearer in a morning
that recognizes the coldness of the dawn,
the anxiety of the day, and the anticipation of the future.

Three months, two periods, one heartbeat, no recognition.
When doubt becomes a crucial spice that is easy to get used to,
and the overbearing silence of the trees is the only thing that puts you to sleep,
you long for the pain that you once knew,
but it will never come back for you.

Moving forward while counting backwards,
People come around, like the passersby that we all are.
Enticing as it may seem, you stay where you are
and fight the temptation to leave the roots that’s keeping you alive.
Standing still, hope is the only companion that you try to keep for so long.

Burning Nakamura

She was walking in a spinning misery of that place.
She didn't realize how agonizing it is to walk using her hands.

Numb as she may have been, her body still felt the chills
while destroying the little prince in me.

But my mind shouted in absolute ecstacy,
because I was burning the town in front of everybody.

Oh yea, I burned Nakamura,
home to my wasted childhood and perverted enigma.

Break

Break

Jaded and preoccupied by delusions
of highly emotional
nonsense,
a curious stare blows.
Temptation pollutes my
hexagonal mind, while
a breath of fresh air
numbs the sensational beating of my lungs.

Hurdled by overbearing
ecstasy,
exit seems to be the last resort for me.

The River

The River

Hush, the river awaits now,
Let us cross the bridge
if it is still there.

Glance

Glance

I find myself in a familiar place
where plants grow from nowhere.
The busy street and crowded rooms
collide to isolate the overtly decorated facade
from the plain and lonesome artifacts.

Flashbacks blink in unpredictable manner
intended or just my subconscious, I could not say for sure.
In an instant, everything froze,
held by a mysterious spark, you moved,
and I caught a glimpse of you.

Nights like this are meant to end
but I still wander in an open field.
Suddenly, I turn around and catch your glance
were you looking at me,
were you there the whole time?

TAKER

TAKER

Take me back to the
alley where no one cares and secrets
kept are open for the world to see.
Eagles soar as I flipped my arms while
holding the warmth of your heart
into the deepest part of my soul.
Roars and gongs clashed with the sound of the sea
on that night, that moment, you stole the very essence of me.

No spirits roaming, the gods are asleep
alone with my bewildered emotions,
kneeling in the hope of something I cannot see.
Actions can never speak the language
my mind is telling me,
Undo the days, the nights, the glances in my memory,
repeat everything in a constant loop, then maybe, only
absence will remain, its meant to be.

FOR THE WHOLE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER

1If I speak in the tonguesa of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,b but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

                                                                          -  1 Corinthians 13 (New International Version)

A MONTH

For I endured a kind of suffering that should be doomed to end
in the unfathomable light of an unending tunnel
that I may never see.

When love becomes a test of endurance and faith
is just an abstraction in my mind
that will vanish eventually,

Everything shuts as nothingness leads me
to the flickering reminiscence of you
that I spliced, you see.

Day 30 - August 31, 2010

Patag

Hindi kumukurba
sa patuloy na paglalakad,
pantay ang kalawakan
sa landas na hinaharap.

Bawat hakbang
umaalon ang karagatan,
nagpapaalam ang liwanag,
umaahon sa bitag.

Bakas ang pagka-inip
dahil walang makarinig
sa pusong lumuluha
dahil hindi makabatid.

Day 29 - August 30, 2010

XOXO

My Dearest,

In one click,
I lost a hundred dollars
and retrieved my precious
digital files.

P.S.
I have never created
anything so
beautiful.

Day 28 - August 29, 2010

Snap

I created a folder
and deleted another.

A huge amount of space
appeared without a trace.

I searched for the latter,
but found the other.

A long time indeed
oh, god forbid!

I was definitely devastated
by the monster I created.

A snap just like that
led me to a new path.
